There is a new planning application in the Laleham conservation area which you should be aware of.
Osmanstead, Condor Road, Laleham, Staines-upon-Thames, TW18 1UG (the last house on condor Rd on the right, overlooking the river).
This fine riverside house with the vanishingly rare benefit of a large garden is proposed to be demolished and replaced with, believe it or not, SIX detached houses.
You can find full details of the application by clicking on the link below and entering the Application number into the search box.
Application number: 20/00237/FUL
Above is an artists impression of the new layout.
Obviously, those living closest to the river and residents of Condor Road – which I understand is a private road – will be most affected, but we should all be interested in maintaining our peaceful riverside location. The plan is for each of these six new houses to have two car parking spaces, and the planners estimate an increase of 29 vehicle trips over a 12 hour period.
Any comments or objections have to be submitted by 22nd April – although with the current lock-down, this may need to be extended. I am not sure how locals without access to the internet can be given proper access to all the documentation?
Please send your comments to Spelthorne Planning Department by following the link above and entering the Application number. You are then able to “Comment on this Application”.
